Equipment Division Business Manager

B.L. Harbert International is currently seeking an Equipment Division Business Manager for our Bessemer shop location. A valid passport is required. Frequent International travel is required to purchase equipment and visit job sites.

Requirements
  • This position will have primary responsibility for the following:
    • Leading the implementation of equipment management software
    • Ensuring all equipment is properly inventoried, managed and tracked in the equipment management software
    • Developing procedures to ensure all parts and maintenance performed are logged against each piece of equipment with in the software solution
    • Ensuring monthly cycle billings for equipment located on jobsites are performed on a timely basis
    • Monitoring utilization rates of equipment, identifying under-utilized assets
    • Monitoring maintenance costs on equipment and assisting the Equipment Division Director with evaluating returns on equipment
    • Communicating with jobsites to obtain accurate job numbers and costs codes to charge rented equipment for billing purposes
    • Leading annual Equipment Division budgeting process
    • Tracking costs against budget and analyzing variances
    • Tracking equipment costs against assumptions for internal equipment rental rates
  • This position will share (with the Equipment Division Director) responsibility for purchasing and selling equipment for use on overseas and domestic construction sites
  • This position will assist with the following:
    • Purchasing equipment replacement parts
    • Overseeing maintenance mechanics and establishing productivity goals and tracking progress of work
    • Overseeing maintenance and repair of equipment, both in the shop and at the project sites
    • Overseeing inbound and outbound inspection processes
    • Overseeing preventative maintenance program and annual inspections
    • Acquiring rental equipment
Preferences
  • Experience with construction equipment use or rental
  • Strong accounting and financial skills
  • Strong computer skills, including significant experience and abilities with Excel (experience with equipment management software strongly preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with equipment operators, mechanics, superintendents, project managers, vendors and executives
  • Ability to conduct training sessions
  • Ability to analyze proper equipment that is required for particular need
