Position Description

B.L. Harbert International is looking for an Electrical Superintendent to work on international project sites in various locations overseas. The position is the top manager in the field responsible for all aspects of the electrical construction contract including production, safety, and quality control.  As the use of subcontractors is very limited, he or she should have knowledge and background in construction means and methods in order to plan the work as a self-perform builder.  This would include the ability to plan the work including manpower requirements, materials, tools, and equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with project electrical manager/Engineer on schedule, progress and technical needs
  • Manage material requisitions in coordination with site/foremen needs
  • Review drawings, and specifications requirements
  • Provide look ahead schedules and reports to upper management on site electrical progress
  • Manage tools inventory and dispensing
  • Work cooperatively with the quality control department in addressing defects and code violations

Requirements

  • US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the US Government
  • Ability to travel abroad on assignments in the vicinity of site for 2-4 years
  • 5 years’ experience in the supervision of construction projects
  • Fluency in English, spoken, written and read
  • Critical and effective leadership and personnel management ability
  • Ability to mentor inexperienced foreign national electricians into the NEC safety environment, NEMA and ANSI electrical material and equipment

International Architectural Superintendent Various Locations, Overseas

Position Description

B.L. Harbert International is looking for an Architectural Superintendent for various locations overseas. The Architectural Superintendent works with the Project Superintendent to coordinate construction and installation of interior/exterior architectural finishes including but not limited to installation of FEBR windows & doors along with exterior cladding systems. As the use of subcontractors is very limited, candidates should have an extensive knowledge and background in construction means and methods in order to plan the work as a self-perform builder.  This would include the ability to plan the work including manpower requirements, materials, tools, and equipment.

 

Duties:

  • Organize, Coordinate and supervise the work for assigned area. Including the supervision of Local and Third Country National employees
  • Collaborate with other department superintendents and the Project Manager on all work operations and details
  • Help determine work priorities for designated area, planning manpower requirements
  • Oversee installation of architectural finishes
  • Coordinate material requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • US citizen. Willing to travel abroad on assignments in the vicinity of site for 2-4 years
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance through the US Government
  • 5+ years’ experience in the supervision of construction projects

International Mechanical Superintendent - Dry Various Locations, Overseas

Position Description

B.L. Harbert International is looking for a Mechanical Superintendent with expertise in HVAC systems to work on our project in various locations overseas. Candidate must be able to work with crew of various backgrounds and nationalities. Ideal candidates will have extensive knowledge of electrical methods, practices and procedures. Superintendents will provide direction and guidance to field supervisors and craft employees. Being able to manage work performance and productivity to ensure deadlines are met is a key responsibility in this role. Successful candidates will assist in problem resolution and act as a liaison between senior management, field supervision, craft and TCN employees.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Candidates must be willing and able to relocate overseas to work on projects up to 30 months
  • Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: standing, stooping, squatting, sitting, climbing, walking. Ability to perform repetitive movements. Ability to work overhead. Ability to use hands to grasp. Ability to reach with arms. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist. Ability to sit, climb and balance. Ability to frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work with people from different trades, backgrounds, cultures, etc.
  • Ability to follow and maintain proper building and installation codes
  • General understanding of diagrams and blueprints
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Following established safety rules and regulations and maintaining a safe and clean environment

Duties and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a supervision role
  • Candidate must have HVAC commercial/industrial sheet metal experience
  • Candidate must be able to layout, fabricate, install, and test in accordance with SMACNA (Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors)
  • Candidate must be familiar with using various HVAC power/hand tools, such as: shears, breaks, punches/forming presses, edging/crimping machines, hammers, drills, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to identify, quantify, order, arrange, and control HVAC materials
  • Candidate must have HVAC equipment installation experience
  • Candidate must have HVAC insulating experience

  • Candidate must be able to identify, quantify, order, arrange, and control piping materials
  • Candidate must have equipment installation experience
  • Candidate must have piping insulating experience
