In 2015, BL Harbert completed a project for Indian Springs School, consisting of 18 new classrooms, faculty offices, a new administration building, and a guardhouse.
It was an excellent project for us, and we have maintained a strong relationship with Indian Springs over the years.
On March 25th, 2021, dangerous tornadoes ripped through Alabama, causing major damage in many areas, including Indian Springs. Fortunately, no one in this area was injured; however, just 500 yards from the project BLHI completed six years prior was the school’s Maintenance Manager’s home, which was completely destroyed. Additionally, the school’s campus had about 75-100 trees down and much debris. Indian Springs called on BL Harbert for help the next day with what would have been a daunting task for them.
The day after the storms, we had a team arrive at the site to start helping with cleanup. We brought in a track hoe to help move trees and the debris. Our team worked Friday, Saturday, and again on Monday to help get their property back in order. We hauled off 10-12 dumpsters full of debris! We are also working with the school to find additional ways we can support their employee who lost his home.
