BL Harbert served as the Construction Manager for the new Municipal Complex which includes two buildings. The first, approximately 26,600-square-feet, serves as the main City Hall building and houses administration offices, fire, public safety, city clerk, finance, IT, City Council chambers and a work session room. The second, approximately 24,000- square-feet, houses the city’s police and courts.
To the citizens, this is a transformative project that renews and revitalizes an entire community. To the city government officials, the City Hall and Police Department marks a significant step forward that provides the City with highly functional state-of-the-art buildings that will accommodate current and future needs of Vestavia Hills.
The buildings and exterior green space are designed to create a vital civic presence that will instantly give the City its own identity and create a memorable “town hall” setting for community events. This is a legacy development that will effectively serve the City for many decades to come.
