BL Harbert Completes Auburn Hotel Expansion Project One Month Ahead of Schedule
The Auburn University Hotel and Dixon Conference Center alongside BL Harbert International celebrated the ribbon cutting of the AUHCC new porte cochere expansion last week. The completed project was a month ahead of schedule and will allow guests to unload their belongings shielded from weather elements.
BL Harbert International led construction on the new glass and steel addition. The hotel installed the awning as a step toward its goal of being recognized on AAA’s Four Diamond List of hotels.
“While most porte cocheres are made of concrete with four posts, the Hotel at Auburn had a different design, stated Hans van der Reijden, managing director of the hotel. “The porte cochere extends from above the entrance to the hotel, covering the unloading deck with a glass structure.”
“It has been our pleasure working with the hotel to complete their vision for the guest experience,” stated John Hanson, project manager for BL Harbert International. “The addition is seamless and our team did an outstanding job delivering this project ahead of schedule.”
This project marks the first time that ratings have been higher for the hotel during a construction project.
