The 4-H Guthrie Lodge Expansion project consists of an interior renovation of the existing Guthrie Lodge facility; the addition of a new kitchen, dining room, conference center, and exterior covered decks; and associated sitework, service, and parking lot.
The existing one-story 4-H Guthrie Lodge to be renovated is approximately 5,000 square feet and includes entry lobby, offices, dining room, and existing kitchen. The renovation includes interior finishes, lighting, reworked lower-lobby access ramp, improved bathroom facilities, and revised office workroom area. The exterior scope is limited to strategic replacement and the addition of specific windows and doors.
The one-story addition to the 4-H Guthrie Lodge totals approximately 7000 square feet and includes replacing the existing kitchen with a new, larger kitchen facility, including all-new equipment, to be shared by the existing dining room and a new 2500-square-foot dining room. A 2,000-square-foot freestanding conference facility is at the west end of the site and shares an outdoor covered patio with the new dining room. A new covered walkway connects the existing lobby to the new dining and conference areas, overlooking Lay Lake to the north. New service area and parking lot on the south side of the building connect to the existing 4-H loop road. Typical building construction for the addition consists of light-gauge metal framing with wood roof trusses, with composite wood siding and asphalt shingles.
