BL Harbert International was awarded the contract to make improvements to the existing Five Mile Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant to increase the flow capacity from two million gallons per day to 30 million gallons per day. These improvements included the addition of the Headwork’s/Pump Station, two Aeration Basins, Aerobic Digester, two Final Clarifiers, Extending North and South Pipe galleries, West Pipe Gallery, Aerated Holding Basin, and the Filter/UV Building.
In these structures, there was approximately 30,000-cubic-yards of cast-in-place concrete, which was self-performed by BLHI. One slab-on-grade at the Headwork’s/Pump Station had approximately 1,800-cubic-yards of concrete, which was completed in 10 hours.
