GE Aviation CMC Raw Material High Volume Facility

Madison, Alabama

The combined 365,000-square-foot facilities is the first in the United States to mass produce silicon carbide (SiC) materials as an ultra-lightweight alternative for jet engines. The adjacent facility uses the SiC ceramic fiber to make tape for CMC components. Completed in 2017, the new GE Aviation Manufacturing Facility will employ up to 300 employees.
