BL Harbert served as the construction manager for the new Homewood Public Safety Building.

The project consists of the construction of a new 54,000-square-foot 4-story facility to include provisions for the Police Department, Municipal Courts, and Municipal Jail. An E-911 center is provided that complies with NFPA 1221, as well as a storm shelter complying with ICC 500, sized to accommodate staff and jail population. In addition, the work includes alternates for gas fuel storage and dispensing system, a vehicle maintenance shed (pre-engineered metal building) of approximately 4,480 square feet, and a prefabricated roof for the staff pedestrian entry into the building. Scope includes site work including but not limited to all site utilities, storm, erosions control, and grading. Underground storage tanks are provided for the storage of fuel for emergency generators and for emergency vehicle fueling.
