The multi-building campus is being constructed on a 6.6-acre site to the east of the Old City along Chiang Mai’s Super Highway ring road. The site is in close proximity to Payap University and within the new Chiang Mai Business Park.

The new campus will include a three-story Consular office building as well as other support facilities for the Consulate community.

The design for the new U.S. Consulate will become a physical embodiment of the team’s goals: To create a resilient, high-performance, secure, and welcoming place that is responsive to its climate and respectful of its context, and in doing so, represents a renewed commitment to the long and valued diplomatic relationship between the United States and Thailand.

The project is registered with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) and targeting a Silver Certification.
