Developed on an 8-acre site, the U.S. Consulate Compound in Johannesburg includes a four-story Chancery building for U.S. diplomatic and consular staff, and a single-story utility building to support site utilities.

Most buildings are reinforced concrete structures with ballistics-rated walls, glazing, doors, and roof decks.  Construction was completed in 24 months.
