Situated on a six-acre site, the compound includes a four-story office building; a four-story parking garage; a two-story Marine Security Guard Quarters; warehouse/shops building; and utility building.
The new U.S. Consulate Compound in Dubai was completed four months ahead of schedule, despite facing challenging circumstances, such as temperatures in excess of 130 degrees Fahrenheit and an unskilled labor force. Most buildings consist of a reinforced concrete shell designed for seismic-, forced-entry, ballistic-, and blast-resistance. Through sustainable design initiatives, the project has achieved LEED Gold certification.
