The Peak Flow Handling Physical/Chemical and Ultraviolet Disinfection upgrade was designed to provide treatment of wastewater incurred during heavy rain events, up to a maximum of 360 million gallons per day, as well as a final treatment process for the normal effluent from the Village Creek Facility, averaging 60 million gallons per day.
The major components of the new construction consist of the Deep Bed Filter, Ultraviolet Disinfection and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System.
