2021 ABC Award Winners
The US Group won big in the ABC Alabama Chapter Excellence in Construction competition this year, taking home three first-place awards and one second-place.
There were over 90 entries submitted into this year’s competition, making it an extremely competitive field. Congrats to our project teams on all of the award-winning projects! We’re so proud of you.

1st Place (Obelisk Award): Commercial $50M-$100M
The Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes Resort
The Sweetgrass Inn at Wild Dunes Resort is a 153-key boutique hotel located on the Isle of Palms, just 30 minutes from historic downtown Charleston. The Inn features a mix of comfortable and tastefully appointed guest rooms and suites, a premier spa, two dining options, an expansive pool deck, and first-class meeting and event spaces, including the area’s only rooftop ballroom, in addition to full access to Wild Dunes Resort’s award-winning golf courses, tennis club, and white sand beaches. The Sweetgrass Inn adds a distinctive boutique option to the array of offerings at the 1,600-acre Wild Dunes Resort.

ServisFirst Bank Nashville Regional Headquarters
About five years ago, ServisFirst, a full-service banking company with locations across the southeastern United States, entered the Nashville market for the first time. Before this project, their staff was working in a transitional space – that we also renovated – as their name grew across town. As they continued to grow, they decided that it was time to move their branch to a new and more spacious office setting inside the new Broadwest development in downtown Nashville. Our project covered the entire second floor of the office tower, totaling about 20,000 square feet of Class AA office space, and is the new home of ServisFirst’s Regional Headquarters Office. The office space includes private offices, workstations, conference rooms, reception areas, a large training room, and break areas.

Alabama 4-H Guthrie Lodge Addition and Renovation
The 4-H Guthrie Lodge Expansion project consists of an interior renovation of the existing Guthrie Lodge facility; the addition of a new kitchen, dining room, conference center, and exterior covered decks; and associated sitework, service, and parking lot.

2nd Place (Merit Award): Federal Government / Military $10M – $100M
Building 100 Secured Gateway
The 280,000-square-foot office building is located on the Redstone Gateway development within the boundaries of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. The facility provides modern, secure space for 1,400 federal government employees, and includes open and enclosed offices, conference rooms, training space, and fitness rooms.
