Birmingham, Ala. —BL Harbert International, LLC was recently selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Kansas City District to provide construction services for the new Consolidated Operations Building at Whiteman Air Force Base.
The 79,000-square foot building will combine training and essential functions of the 509th and 131st bomb wings, 393th Bomb Squadron Tigers and the Missouri Air Guard’s 110th Bomb Squadron Mules into one mission-focused facility. The facility will also integrate the 509th Operation Support Squadron Hawks.
To mark the official beginning of construction, Whiteman Air Force Base celebrated with a groundbreaking ceremony on February 22, 2019. Representatives from BL Harbert were in attendance following the subcontractor outreach event hosted by the firm in Kansas City the previous day.
The project is slated for completion in September 2020.
