ENR Announces 2020 Global Best Project Awards

BL Harbert International is proud to announce that Engineering News-Record (ENR) recognized the New U.S. Consulate Compound in Matamoros, Mexico and the New Office Annex (NOX) and Major Rehabilitation/Upgrade in Amman, Jordan as part of ENR’s eighth annual Global Best Projects competition.

The New U.S. Consulate Compound in Matamoros, Mexico was selected as the Global Best Project in the Government Building category and the New Office Annex (NOX) and Major Rehabilitation/Upgrade in Amman, Jordan won the Award of Merit in the Government Building category. The competition honors construction and design excellence during the past year around the globe. A diverse set of 22 projects were selected, hailing from 21 different countries, and six continents.

The 2020 Global Best Project winners were chosen by an independent jury of industry professionals with extensive international experience. Criteria included safety, innovation, contribution to the global community, aesthetic quality, and workmanship, with a special emphasis on globally-diverse project teams.

The judges designated top selections as Global Best Project winners in a variety of categories and picked Award of Merit honorees as warranted. All of the selected projects will be spotlighted in more detail in the September 21 issue of ENR. This year, everyone around the globe has a chance to celebrate these global construction achievements and mingle with the teams behind the projects at our virtual awards event in September!

“The outstanding result of team efforts on both of these projects is remarkable. Congratulations to everyone involved from the estimating phase, the design phase, construction & commissioning, and close-out/warranty. Thank you to everyone for their contributions to these projects over the last several years. Everyone who worked on these projects should feel a sense of pride when projects such as these finish safely, successfully, and are recognized by industry peers.” – Senior Vice President, Mike Veal
