BL Harbert International’s scope of work included renovating 50,000-square-feet of the existing building and adding two new buildings.

The Taylor Center is the heart of Auburn Montgomery’s campus and serves many important functions for students. Those functions include: Army ROTC, AUMNIBUS, Campus Bookstore, Campus Police, Career Development, Cashier/Student Service Center, Central Advising, Counseling Center, Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Housing and Residence Life, Student Activities, Student Affairs, Student Computer Lab and Student Support Services.

The renovations re-programmed the following departments:  Housing, Admissions, Records, Financial Aid, Cashiers, IT (the main computer lab), the Campus Bookstore and Student Activities.  The two additions to the Taylor Center provided new space for the Campus Police and a Private Dining area for the Chancellor.

This building also contains the only cafeteria on campus, numerous classrooms, as well as all the administrative departments that make the campus run.  The project was completed while keeping all areas of the building not under construction completely open and functional.  This task required rigorous planning and attention to detail by the university, design team and BL Harbert.
