Maneuver Center Headquarters Expansion

Fort Benning, Georgia

A design-build project with a structural steel frame and lightweight concrete decks. The exterior facade is a brick and precast veneer with storefront windows. The Maneuver Center Headquarters is a LEED Silver Certified facility.

As a result of the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission’s decision to consolidate a number of schools and installations, the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence was formed at Ft. Benning, Georgia. This formation included the move of the Armor School from Ft. Knox, Kentucky, to Ft. Benning, Georgia. The Maneuver Center turns out trained, adaptive and ready soldiers for the Army.

The design-build project includes a four-story, 142,000-square-foot expansion with a 779-space parking lot connected to the building via three vehicular bridges that cross Laundry Creek.  The building also houses the Maneuver Center of Excellence Library. The building is the equivalent of a Class A commercial building.
